My ‘98 Voyager

Well, here she is in her new-to-me state. With only 17,000 miles on the odometer, there’s plenty of road time left. It’s a big change from my ‘06 Hayabusa, but I can’t complain about lack of power. The Voyager does fine in curves too, and with a little suspension tweaking will make for a great all-around motorcycle.

My bike is fairly stock, though it lacks a CB (that I won’t miss). My biggest concern is that it’s so easy to ride without a helmet; the big windscreen makes for a nice, quiet ride, unlike my Hayabusa, which leaves my head out in the open air with all the wind blast.

At this point, we’re planning a few big trips. Nova Scotia, Utah and Washington State are on the docket in the near term, though that may change as we assess how far we can comfortably cruise in a day. Who knows? Maybe we’ll even tackle Cabo San Lucas, a trip I had been saving for a V-Strom which I’m considering to replace the Hayabusa.
